Ratanddeep,
Thanks for your assistance. The Epson is set of the default print and windows fax and scan recognizes it as such, and can drive the scanner, but only from the flatbed choice. Additionally, when scanning on the documents setting, F & S doesn't give me the choice of different paper sizes as it's always done for my other printers.
Here's a screen shot. If you have any other ideas, please let me know. Thanks! Tim

Hi Ratandeep. The printer user guide has nothing and Espon tech of course says "Epson does not support the native applications of Windows Operating Systems."
It's definitely a Windows Fax & Scan issue, because the Epson software works fine for scanning from the feeder and the other functions.
It's just that I I'd rather use the Windows software because as you've probably experienced, printer softwares are clunkier.
What I need is an expert on the Windows F & S software of some kind of doc/manual on W F & S that goes beyond the superficial.
If you have any ideas please do let me know. Thank, Tim

Hello Tim,
Thank you for your response.
I appreciate your time.
I would suggest you to perform clean boot and then check the issue with Windows fax and scan.
Refer:
How to perform a clean boot in Windows
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/929135
Clean boot is performed to start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This helps eliminate software conflicts that occur when you install a program or an update or when you run a program.
Note: After you have finished troubleshooting, follow these steps from section "How to reset the computer to start as usual after clean boot troubleshooting" to reset the computer to start as usual.
Please keep us updated.
Thank you
